CFO Advisory Council RMB Event Takes Place in New York

On February 1, 2017, the CFO Advisory Council hosted an RMB event at Bloomberg’s headquarters in New York.

Tom Quaadman, Executive Vice President of the U.S. Chamber Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness provided opening comments, followed by a brief update from the Working Group Secretariat.

The program included presentations on improved access to Chinese markets from HSBC, focused on RQFII allocation, and KraneShares, on the interbank bond market.

A representative from Bloomberg also discussed the China bond market, followed by an update on the internationalization of the RMB.

Bank of China New York branch updated attendees on its plans to launch RMB clearing bank services.

Attendees were then given the opportunity to ask questions prior to the meeting’s conclusion.
